ODBA Social Tournament

In the 2011-2012 season, the ODBA affiliated club presidents voted in favour of funding a tournament intended for the lower level adult players.  This year will be the 2nd annual Ottawa District Social Tournament.  It was decided that the ODBA Social Tournament will exhibit the following details:

Who qualifies as a player?
Any adult beginner/novice/recreational level player with little or no tournament experience

Who does not qualify?
A player who has been in past/present A-B-C-D events or Masters events, and a player under 19 years of age

How do you register?
Register online at http://social.odba.ca/register-here and provide the following info:
  1. Your profile and contact info
  2. events you would like to play in
  3. partner name(s)
  4. name of badminton club
  5. t-shirt size
Are shuttles provided?
Yes, you must play with the provided Yellow Yonex Mavis 300 (medium speed)

Which rules will be enforced?
We will rely on the latest rules found at http://www.worldbadminton.com/rules/documents/bwfLaws2010.pdf

At what time should you arrive?
Between 8:15 and 8:30am is perfect

Are there showers on location?
There might be, but we don't know at this point in time

Will there be a lunch break?
There will be a 1 hour lunch break around 1pm

What should you do if you have to cancel?
Please contact the tournament organizers ASAP
