On behalf of the tournament organizing team, the volunteers that helped with the tournament, and the ODBA organization, I want to thank you for joining the 2013 ODBA Social Tournament.  We were very fortunate this year to have filled the tournament to capacity 6 weeks before the tournament date.  There was such a great push by the Rockland, Bell, Capital, Fallingbrook, and Holy Trinity Badminton Clubs.  The tournament was full before I had a chance to distribute my stack of poster advertisements.  Most of you probably saw the posters taped on the doors coming in.

What made this social tournament such a great experience was the comfortable setting - each of you knew a bunch of others, and each of you had an opportunity to meet others you didn't know.  Everyone had a small team of cheerleaders from your own badminton club.

This year's Social Tournament was brought to you by: Jean Wong, Mike Tran, Sally Liang, Shirley Huang, and Fei Tam.  With very special thanks to Paul Southgate, Dominique Guertin, Jackie Hopkins, and Jim Huang for advertising this tournament.  The student volunteers were Salina Tran, Linyang Zhang, Mary-Lynn Cottee, and Jianing Yang.  The poster designed by Roy Hoople.  Photography by Ming Lee.  The tournament partners were the badminton supplier, Victor, and bubble-tea shop, My Sweet Tea.

This year, we used the registration fees to cover gym rental, shuttles, free t-shirts, free sandwiches, free bubble teas, an amazing grand draw-prize, and some free beer & food at Don Cherry's.  And, thanks to the ODBA for sponsoring this event with $550.
